30 Day Book Challenge // 16

Most thought provoking book.

The Heretics by Will Storr

The Heretics: Adventures with the Enemies of Science by Will Storr.

With a subtitle like “Adventures with the Enemies of Science” you might think that The Heretics is a straight forward non-fiction book about amusing weirdoes. The author meets UFO spotters, new earth creationists, past life regression therapists and others who cling to ideas debunked by scientists.

But it is in fact a book about how the mind works. How we see what we want to see and ignore what we don’t. How we edit out memories to our advantage. And how we form opinions first, then seek evidence that proves them. This is a fascinating book and I would highly recommend everyone to read it.

Thanks for reading.

  2. Seems like an interesting book. 🙂 You just have to share at least a part of what you’ve read there. Pretty please? 😉

    • Sorry I think I’m being really dumb here but I didn’t quite understand your comment. Do you want me to write more about the book? I could do a full post about it. Or is there something specific you want me to write about. I agree with you, its a really interesting book.

      • See, this is what happens when you’re not a native speaker (I’m not).
Yes, I would like you to write more about this book.

        • Its fine its not your fault (and your english is really good). I’m just tired. But I could totally do another post about this book. It might be a few weeks before it went up but I could totally write more.
