Snowpiercer by Jacques Lob

Snowpiercer by Jacques Lob

Snowpiercer: Escape by Jacques Lob.

In a harsh, uncompromisingly cold future where Earth has succumbed to treacherously low temperatures, the last remaining members of humanity travel on a train while the outside world remains encased in ice.

The surviving community are not without a social hierarchy; those that travel at the front of the train live in relative luxury whilst those unfortunate enough to be at the rear remain clustered like cattle in claustrophobic darkness. Yet, things are about to change aboard the train as passengers become disgruntled…

I really enjoyed the Snowpiercer movie and wanted to read the graphic novel it was based on. But the original story just isn’t as good as the movie. I can’t tell why, maybe the story lost something when it was translated into English. But the itย definitely works better as a film. It it also available on Netflix, though it is rather violent.

Thanks for reading.

I’ve had this movie in with Watch List for a while now but haven’t had a chance to watch it. Now I’m really curious, I’ll have to move it up in priority.

My friend from work was talking about this film to me a couple of weeks ago! I think I might give both the graphic novel and film ago now! ๐Ÿ™‚

The movie is good and a must watch. But don’t waste your money on the graphic novel. Its interesting to read but really isn’t as good as the movie.

It is definitely worth the watch. There is a different atmosphere to this movie compared to others and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey. Both in terms of the one they make in the movie and the one we make through the plot. I will not reveal anymore.

We watched the movie just a few days ago. I had a bit of a problem believing the premise at first, but I gradually bought-in as they revealed the details of how it came to pass and how the train was self-sustaining. Overall I enjoyed it.

I didn’t think I would like the movie, but I enjoyed it very much. I didn’t realize there was a graphic novel too! Adding to my tbr list.

I really wanted to read this after watching the movie, but after reading this review don’t know if it’s worth the money to buy this graphic novel.

I got it for ยฃ11 on Amazon but I was still disappointed with it. I’m not sure if its possible to get it cheaper as an ebook, or maybe have a look on ebay.

I watched this film on Netflix. I enjoyed its social and political undertones (although they weren’t truly UNDERtones were they? Made me want to read the book. Maybe not.
