Mini Updates

I have a lot of life stuff going on right now which means there is also a lot of blog stuff going on. So I thought I would give you guys a little update on everything.

College: So by the time you read this post I will be back at college (I’m writing this a few days early). I’m actually really excited about going back to this course which feels a little weird, I’ve said this many times but I had to drop out of this course two years ago due to health reasons and I’m finally going back.

But the weird thing is that all I remember is being so stressed out and anxious over this course (which I now know was a bad thing) and I don’t feel like that anymore, but I feel like I should be stressed but I’m not, I mean there is a little bit of anxiety but it’s not the huge cloud of dread that it was.

CFS: I hesitate to say this because I don’t want to jinx myself but it hasn’t been as bad as I expected. I was worried that with all the college and book festival stuff going on that it might flare up and it hasn’t. I mean there was that moment while walking down Princess Street where the world started spinning around me, but apart from that it has been okay.

Schedule: I’ve never officially announced a blog schedule but for the last four months I have posted four times a week. Now that I’m going back to college I thought that doing a full time course and blogging four times a week might be a little too much (and I don’t want the CFS to throw a wobbly!). So I’ve decided to drop my Wednesday post and move the Thursday post to Friday.

You guys have no idea how much it pained me to do this, I have so many posts I want to write, but college must come first and I would rather have posts scheduled out three months in advance than try to do too much and make the CFS angry. You know, sometimes when I think about it, it’s almost like I’m Bruce Banner and the CFS is the Hulk. That was a bad analogy…..

London: I am going to London in October. To be more specific I am going to GollanczFest at the Waterstones in Piccadilly. It sounds like its going to be so much fun, there is going to be a bunch of sci-fi/ fantasy authors including Brandon Sanderson (I really need to start reading Mistborn) and Ian McDonald (I’m not obsessed with that guy I just really like his book). If there are any book nerds in London you should totally come as well because the tickets are super cheap. Obviously since I’m in London I will also be going book shopping so if you know of any good book shops please leave them in the comments.

Thanks for reading.

Wow a lot going on! I’m so happy to hear the CFS hasn’t been bothering you despite all the stress. Keep up all the hard work, and remember to be sure self-care is always #1 as things pick up. I’m starting school too, super nervous about it, eek! We can support each other during exam time I’m sure 🙂

Good luck with college and yes, your education comes first. The Internet and the blog will still be here even if you post once a week. Enjoy London!

I’m hoping college is going well and the hulk is staying content! Posting three times a week still sounds loads to me. Most important thing is not making yourself do too much all at once (which obviously you know!). That event in London sounds great, I don’t live there anymore, I wouldn’t have been well enough to go anyway but I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to reading about it.

Its weird, I started taking a multivitamin a few weeks ago and I don’t know if it’s the thing that’s helping, but I haven’t been more tired than normal because of college. Or at least this week I haven’t… I’m still not good at that not doing too much at once thing, especially when I’m in town. I know I should take time out and go for a coffee or something but I hate going into coffee shops by myself. I can’t wait for the London thing, it sounds like its going to be fun 🙂

Thanks for the update. You were one of the first if not THE first blog I followed last year when I started blogging more or less seriously. Somewhere I have a book on London Book Shops…my daughter-in-law bought it for me when she was in London. I am going to TRY to find it so that I can give you the name and other information….but keep in mind that I have several thousand books (I’m an online dealer) and my own personal collection got packed away when the contractors were here fixing my ceilings (ice) and that book shop book is among the ones going back on my bedroom shelves. So my intentions are good… 🙂

Oh thank you, thats very kind of you. I already know of a couple of big book shops I want to visit (Waterstones, Foyles ect), but I would love to visit some smaller independent book shops too.
