My Most Anticipated Books of 2017

It’s that time of year again where I share the books being released in 2017 that I am most excited about. I should point out there is definately a bias towards science fiction in this list.

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
Release date: 9th February

This book has already been released in the US (and appeared on a number of ‘top books of 2016’ lists) but won’t be released in the UK till February. This is about a man in Russia who spends 20 years confined to a small room in a hotel. I actually already have an ARC of this and though I haven’t read much, it’s really interesting so far.

Luna: Wolf Moon by Ian McDonald | bluchickenninja.com
Luna: Wolf Moon by Ian McDonald
Release date: 23rd March

This is a continuation from Luna: New Moon (which was one of my favourite books in 2015). This is set 18 months after Luna and is about one of five family corporations that rule the Moon. This is sort of a political thriller, you can expect lots of backstabbing, sex and 80s fashion.

The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon | bluchickenninja.com
The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon
Release date: 7th March

This is the continuation of the Bone Season series. To be honest I am mostly concerned about what the cover will be. Because I want matching hardbacks while the publisher announced they were redesigning the series. Yeah I know, first world problems and all that.

Other 2017 Releases

Architects of Infinity by Kirsten Beyer. This is the latest book in the Star Trek Voyager series. Not sure what it is going to be about yet but it will be released around November time.

Origin by Dan Brown. This is the latest book in the Robert Langdon series. It will probably be terrible and I will probably read it anyway.

Iron Gold by Pierce Brown. This is the start of another trilogy that takes place some time after Morning Star. Not sure exactly what it will be about but it should be good cause it’s Pierce Brown.

Thanks for reading.

I really need to try to read more scifi this year. I realised I barely read any last year while I was looking at my goodreads year in books.
