A few months ago I killed my monthly reading wrap-ups (mostly because I wasn’t reading enough for them). But I thought instead I could do a little review of everything that happened on the blog and in real life over the last month.
Just in terms of blog views this month has been really good for some reason, I’m not entirely sure how that happened. One day I even got over 300 hits. I think it’s been over two years since the last time that happened. So yeah thanks for reading, and I’ve gained a whole lot of followers this month so thanks for following too.
I think the most important thing to happen this month was me getting tickets for Hamilton in London. For a moment I didn’t think we would actually get anything, I was trying to book 4 seats together and ticketmaster made you wait at least 10 minutes to find out if the seats you wanted were available. But we got tickets and I’m actually going to be in the room where it happens.
I only read two books this month. But it was two books that I really enjoyed. I’m trying this new thing where I read slower so I can actually enjoy the reading experience. Rather than flying through as fast as I can. This will probably mean I don’t hit my reading goal this year but I’m not too bothered about that.
My bullet journal post seemed to be really popular this month. I wrote about my setup for the new year and how to start your own Bujo. I’ve been using this current notebook for 3 months now and it’s getting to the point where I would normally start getting bored and want something new. But for some reason I still really like this notebook, even after making a number of changes in how I use it.
Sherlock happened at the start of the month and I wrote a rather long post about it. I was actually surprised to see how many people didn’t like this season. To the point where a whole lot of Sherlock fans were convinced there must be a fourth episode because the others were so bad (they then went and complained to the BBC because there wasn’t a secret episode). Seriously, if you want a laugh go have a look at the fourth episode tag on Tumblr.
I shared a trip I took to London way back at the start of December. Can’t believe how long it took me to write these posts. In the first I write about The British Library. In the second I share my thoughts about Lazarus. The musical David Bowie wrote in the year before his death.
I also unintentionally had an Instagram theme this month. This was more to do with me not having energy to take photos so just took a whole bunch at the same time. I don’t actually like how this ended up looking so I will probably go back to taking regular photos (when I get back in the habit of photographing interesting stuff).
In other exciting news I got an eARC of Luna: Wolf Moon by Ian McDonald. I loved the first book in this series so expect a review soon.
